Tourism Burnaby


Burnaby has always been in the shadow of its older sister, Vancouver. Our challenge when connecting to a diverse audience group was to address a key shortcoming of the city: the perception that Burnaby had little to offer visitors.

We developed a contest and supporting microsite, backed by radio and online social media, challenging the audience to see Burnaby in a different light. The 7 Ways to Get Away contest highlighted all the activities and events either in the city or within a stones throw of it. The audience was first introduced to the contest by means of a mini shampoo bottle handout. Each bottle had a unique code to be entered into the microsite for either an instant-win prize or the grand prize of your choice between seven different Burnaby getaways.


These ads were placed in trade magazines and directed towards meeting planners and conference coordinators. Why have your meeting or conference in Vancouver when you could have all its amenities and attractions available from budget-friendly Burnaby?
